As described in the Link Intel posted, correct Dynamat installation does not require that you cover every millimeter of the car. When I say my car is completely done except the firewall, I mean the every surface has been tended to. Overall probably 25 to 30 percent (more in the door, less in the hatch) are covered with Dynamat, while more like 80 percent of the suface area is covered with Dynaliner (some surfaces were just too much of a pain like around the rear side glass). Basically Dynamat as needed for vibration and Dynaliner generously and as continously as possible over top. Most of the Dynaliner is 1/2" thick but in some places (like the headliner) had to drop to 1/4". If I am in Cali this summer I might bring back a roll of MLV (mass loaded vinyl) for the hatch area. That said, my feeling is that the weatherstrip and the large glass surface are the weak points anyways so I might not bother. Hope this helps Cheers
